Its looking good mate! Dont think of pepakura as the end result tho its just a guide line as to were to put the curves and details. Apply your bondo and keep sanding until you achieve your desired shape. It takes time for it to take shape but once it gets there its a triumph :) Just keep plodding along with the sanding and no doubt it will end up another epic iron man helmet on the rpf!

Always start thin layer .. Yours is doing ok but it would take a long time to sand by hand unless you have a mini sander... If I were you ill skip the face plate for now and continue bondo the rest of the helmet in thin layer... Good luck

Use less bondo and focus on one area at a time. Your helmet is salvagable. Your going to have to do some sanding though. Good luck to ya...GM

it looks like a good start a little too much bondo being used, your gonna cause more work for yourself, the first coat of bondo should be used to fill in the low spots after move onto shaping it. looks good so far tho sand all the access off and start a little at a time.

That will help. Another suggestion is to use some coarse sandpaper to rough in the contours while the bondo is curing. The ideal time to do it is while the bondo is the consistency of pencil eraser and still warm from the curing process. It can save quite a bit of sanding.

i usually just start with an electric disk sander when i use too much bondo, then follow up with hand sanding to go from there to more precise, saves me lots of time

It's not just the bondo, you have the shape slightly wrong. I know, because it's what I did on my first helmet build.

The angle that I've painted green... You and I both made the same mistake, and made the sides of the head go straight down from the top. They don't go down, they go slightly outward.
