I was told that of the three belts, the top one was the first. It was a modified rental belt. The photos with the tape measure were to make the other two. The first belt was only used in promotional photoshoots and the bottom one (hero) was the one most worn on set.

I've never seen the show, but made this stripped down version years ago as a Bushranger gun...

Here is my finished product. The client already has the brass cartridges, so these shots are with snap-caps and garden variety 12 ga. shells. Also appearing are a modified Denix and a Crazy Cow Bowie (with the retaining strap cut off-- as it appears in some shot or other in the show)

The belt needed to be shortened to fit the user. I didn't want to modify the billets in the front, so I reduced the overall length of the cartridge loops by around 10%. I made several test pieces to find the correct length for the .38 cartridges and 12 ga. shells.

One detail I noticed in pouring over the photos of the hero was that there is one hole in the tongue billet that is not evenly spaced. It is clearly an additional hole punched into the belt to make it fit Mr Harris. I carried this detail over on my replica.

Great work...if you look at the johnny ringo belt from tombstone you'll see a silver stud missing to fit the actor...could be a last minute thing...

Very nice work!! Your denix lemat looks much better than many of the MIB conversions I've seen. The armorer (rocketshoes on GB) just tried to sell the cap and ball screen used revolver on gunbroker. The auction ended at $2900, reserve not met. I can imagine he wants a briefcase full of money for that sucker.

I remember a video (I may have shared it here) from Larry at ISS showing off the guns from the show and that damn mocked up Vaquero made me chuckle. Really ingenious work around for Ed Harris and the armorer as time is (lots of) money on set.

Bravo , a great prop...Hollywood have always tricked out guns. One oddity was a cast luger shell with a little revolver inside in a 40 s Sherlock Holmes movie. Sort of a grandad to the BR blaster !
