Wested Rocketeer Jacket Questions

Does anyone have a Rocketeer Jacket from Wested? I've read that, like the AbbyShot version, this one is also a bit too dark. Does anyone know exactly what they mean by saying they have 'original movie patterns?'

I really want to know how accurate the Wested jacket itself is, and how good the buttons are.

I'm basically looking for an alternative to the Abbyshot jacket, because even though I've been asking them about this jacket for over a year (I saved up enough for it about the same they pulled it), and they told me they would keep me updated, I just found out that they in fact were not making it any more without so much as a heads-up.:angry:thumbsdown

-Any info or insight on the Wested Rocketeer Jacket would be nice.

Thanks,
ds

It's my understanding that Wested was sent an original Disney jacket in the hopes that they would produce them for fans. They made patterns from the jacket and sent it back to the owner, but they didn't do anything with the patterns for years. I believe that they did eventually produce the jacket in some limited numbers, but don't make it any more.

Interesting.
It looked good enough in the pictures they have, I just wanted to make sure... My one complaint about their site is that they could use some better product pics. - Anyways...

Also, I read somewhere I believe that the original jacket was horsehide? Does anyone know if this is true? Not that it really matters - I'm just curious.

And, is there an opinion on the buttons they use for the bib?

It looks like you can still order the jacket from them. The site says they make them on a made to order basis.

Thank you for the quick response, btw!

I heard the same thing that the jacket ws made out of horse hide. I'm not 100% sure though. I can find out, but may take several days.

I believe wested still sells the jacket. I seen a couple on ebay, but they were always too small.
