I had a friend that was meant to have been working on the art, but I'm still waiting on it.

I've ordered a lighter to test laser marking with CerMark with. It's a process that turns the marked area black. I'll check back in here to show how it turns out.

In the meantime, if anybody comes up with the art, I'd like to test with that.

Lets see the lighter!

While having it on a 1940s lighter would be cool, I'd be happy with having it on a modern Zippo if that was the only way to get a decently priced run.

Or this: http://www.bladehq.com/item--Zippo-1941-Vintage--2781

Wasnt zippo sell the repros? I got it from ebay for $12,and theres another that are cheaper but wont ship international, just search for '1941 zippo',just dont buy the sterling silver ones :confused:lol
The repros doesnt 100% match the original though, but far better than doing it on the regular zippo.
BTW hows the real prop done for the image? lasered? decals?

Since I didn't have any of the lighter art, I tested the more detailed art above on stainless and it turned out fine with the lines too light, as you'd expect since the drawing is pretty light on the lines. I don't want to try that art on the lighter I received so if anybody does come up with lighter art, I'll be happy to try it out and see if it will work on the lighter material. To work, it needs heavier lines and all but the lines need to be completely white so it doesn't try to print a light background as well.

thats my comedian costume and my buddy's ozymandias costume.

my chest armor is a crap ton of electrical wires glued to sintra i shaped with a heat gun. and the rest of the armor is various sizes of sintra. i still have the patterns floating around some where. i scaled up to my size using the dc direct figure. i have the smiley face button, its just not shown in that shot. i was going as the "preshooting of the vietnamese woman in the bar" look.

there's one with the scar. i wore it to a zombie party, thats his girlfriend in silk spectre 2.

Oh wow!! I didn't know there was a whole thread for this! Will definitely be watching this one!

edit: PS. Comedian and friends look fantastic up there! Your friend has the perfect look for Ozy. :)

I just ordered all the hardware parts for my Grappling Guns. Going to start assembly this weekend, I'm so excited. Here's the picture I tossed in my thread before, but I'll probably just relocate and post progress in here instead!

For those who missed it, attached are photos of my prototype in open and closed positions, and a preview of the cast versions in progress. It really fires the grapple! Will have an updated demo video soon (there is one on youtube already if you guys want me to share) of the prototype but I think the cast version will fire a lot farther. :love

i forgot to mention i have two different versions of the button, one without the blood, and one with the blood, depending on how i am going as the comedian. i actually prefer the one with out the blood.

Lol perhaps for the right price! ;)

The grappling gun just landed me a professional prop-making gig. I'm so jazzed. :D

P.S. only thing your cosplay is missing is a mustache. ;A; THAT IS WHERE THE COMEDIAN GETS hiS POWER! Like uh. That dude from that story where he had fabulous hair. or something. Totally loving the armor, very wonderfully crafted! Making me debate a Comedienne costume one day, but I'm not nearly burly-enough-a-girl.

Will have to stay a Whoreschach :C

Speaking of which, when I was doing my first test-castings I didn't put any pigment in, so I have all the parts to make a clear grappling gun. This stemmed a conversation about wearing hot black undergarments and a clear plastic Rorschach costume otherwise and outright being "Whoreschach"

But I'm horribly self conscious and I prefer to hide behind the trench coat and mask. XD
