Warhammer marine foam build 2016

Ok, I've been sitting on the fence looking at various foam build videos and sites and finally decided to take the plunge and go for a Space Marine foam build.

I'm not familiar with the Warhammer back story, I just fancy the challenge of building myself something I can wear. At 6'4" tall and 22 stn I'm a large guy and the thought of squeezing into a latex costume isn't that appealing, lol.

I have the Pilerud PDO files and images. I'm still figuring out how to transpose the Pepakura PDO files to foam though and adapt them. I had a go at the helmet first and, although this was a first attempt and needs tweaking, I can see where I can do better with V2. Obviously I dont want to waste my foam.

OK, so v1 of the helmet was a test run through and I botched it. Decided to retry again and here is v2 so far. I'm having real problems though with the dome part of the helmet and making a foam template to fit ( Ive used the Pileruds PDO file and increased the scale by 10% to fit me)

So I'm looking for a bit of advice for making the dome part.

Ok, quick update, I kinda fudged the dome with only 2 cuts rarther than the 6 or so from the paper templates. End result not too bad. Will look better once its 7ft in the air, lol and painted up.




Next project to start is a foot to see how that goes.
