I was able to find time to see Prometheus.. (its hard getting out with a new born) and i totally loved the pistols, and i figured i would try my hand at it.
heres the major photos i was working off of
i searched the internet trying to find good dimensions and all i found were length-295mm width-50mm ( im assuming thats the base of the grip) and height-142mm. so not much to go off of but better than nothing.
so guessed the width off this pic.
i know its a screen shot from my phone, i had to do this because flicker wouldn't let me save it. anyway it looked anywhere between 18mm-24mm. the first one i made was 18mm and it seemed too small. so i decided to just make it 24mm< but i was tired of starting with the bod so i started with the grips.
i had glued 3- 6mm and 2-3mm pieces together. i did this because there had to be a definitive middle piece that sticks out and so i couldnt just glue 4 pieces together
i added the bottom piece and made that 50mm wide
i just eyeballed the basic shape and went to town with my dremel sanding drum.
i cat these two pieces of styrene out to fit the the trigger guard.. like so
i cut out the middle
anyway lets move on. once i felt comfortable i made the middle section of the body of the gun with 6mm mdf and cut the middle out so it would house a clip.
so i got too into the build and didnt document as well as i should have but heres where im at now.
bad pic...sorry
i made the un so its going to be in 3 pieces so it will be easier to mold. and theres the hollow for clip
. keep in mind im still shaping and cleaning it up.
