Walking Dead Sheriff Uniform

I saw an earlier post in this about the Hot Topic Grimes Costume. It's pretty terrible. I saw it up close. Everything is screened on, no actual badges or pins, though the packaging shows it that way. So overall, terrible costume, dont waste the money, you all have the right idea buying from LE sites and such.
Great Costumes fellas. As a full time cop, i can see where people may have been stopping you. Great attention to detail!

If you're on a budget and you're wanting a temporary stand-in for this upcoming Halloween, I spotted a knock-off Sheriff's hat in the style of Rick's hat. I spotted it at the Hot Topic in the Valdosta mall earlier today. Here's a picture of it. It's by something called "Ten Thirty One."

They also had a Walking Dead sheriff's uniform top. It looked kinda cheesy, but again, if you need something to stand in for the outfit this upcoming Halloween, this can be it.

But, if you need an belt of ammo to go with a revolver, found this there too:

Hope these are useful. :)

A few things I've noticed with season 2 now on the air... In addition to the pants-change that VTTrooper mentioned (though I can't tell whether they are black or just a very dark and very dirty brown) Rick now also goes without the collar pins he used to wear.

I need to watch last night's episode again in slow-mo, but it looked to me like in the opening scene where he is running though the field he may have been wearing a nylon duty belt instead of his previous basketweave black one. Really hard to tell due to the motion blur, however.

I think these images should clear things up, Rick's collar pins are gone, his pants ARE very dark brown (you can see it clearly, as they are in very good, direct light in this shot) or incredibly dirty brown, and his belt looks the same as last season. There are other shots where the pants do appear black (namely when he is running to Hershel's farm in the field), however it may just be due to the lighting conditions/color correction in post.

A safe bet would be to stay with the brown trousers since that is what he wore for the first season. But I don't think it really matters, rock what you have.

Color of pants and lack of pins can be seen here

Leather weave belt can be seen clearly here

Hope that helps!

Also, did you guys take into account the timeline of events? I mean, in Episode 1, it took place in two separate days. It could very well be that the group had an extra pair of pants that fit him and Rick was wearing black pants one day and wore brown the next (even more so considering that he was almost waist deep in the creek when he was telling the little girl to hide and pants don't dry overnight unless its in an area where there's some sort of heat source to dry them). I'm suggesting that as the fact that when what's her name was washing his uniform back in Episode 3 (I think) in Season 1, he had what appeared to be another set of clothes on.

Of course, I could be wrong with this interpretation, I'm just tossing it out there.

Hi All,
While searching for a completely different watch, I came across this:

The Kenneth Cole KC3584

I had been using the Seiko SKK677, which looks spot on from a short distance.

I'm pretty sure the Kenneth Cole is the one, though. This pic provided by TheMechanic earlier in the thread.

i was wondering if someone could take a up close and clear pics of the patchs & badges, to get the details. im working on a sketch and would like to be accurate as possible. it would be appreciated, thx. :p

Great job on the costume Hitmanfl, looks perfect!

Hey guys, when I click on the quartermaster link to the two toned shirts, the tan looks waaay off. Instead of tan, it looks pinkish-brown.??

Is it better to call customer service and place the order through them, to ensure the right color shirt? I know we have to do that with the pants and the stripe...

I'm new here, but I just wanted to say "thanks" for creating this thread so i could put together my costume for halloween. It should arrive this friday, but I wouldn't have been able to do it without you guys. thanks again.

There's someone who did a run of the patches selling them on eBay right now. Mine should be here tomorrow, just in time for Halloween. It was the last piece of the costume I needed.

The Walking Dead Sheriff's Uniform Patch | eBay

I'm just going with some black Levi jeans since I couldn't find the brown pants with the tan stripe anywhere. From my own watching, it seems accurate from the end of season 1 and into season 2 so far.

Thanks... could not have pulled it off without this forum. I am wearing the QM shirt in the picture. They look right in person and you are right, the folks there are very helpful!

First off, thank you to all who did the research and contributed to this great thread! This really is the one stop shop almost everything I need to put together the costume is right here.

There are only a few details I have not seen addressed.

The handcuff case he wears behind his holster appears to be a "Don Hume Leather Handcuff case" I am sorry I don't know how to post a photo here but you can see it pretty clearly in one of the promotional shots for the second season. It has Shane, Rick and Lori looking into the barn door. Not the shape of the closure flap, that is why I believe it is the one listed above. I found it at Galls and better yet a few weathered (read used) ones on eBay for around $20.

He also has a "Handcuff Strap" on his belt in front of the holster. It is about 3/4" wide, I can't tell if it is basket weave and it has 2 snaps that look like they may be brass. I'm still looking for a source on that, if you are not a total stickler there are a few on eBay that only have one snap.

I am also looking at the holster. It is also black basket weave, it is two parts and hangs below the belt. It pivots on a metal button of some sort. It may be a "Tex Shoemaker US Swivel Holster" with a 2" drop but I am not sure because the barrel of Rick's pistol is exposed and that doesn't seem to be an option on the Tex Shoemaker. the best photo I have found is posted earlier in this thread and shows rick from the back while the group is looking at Jim's bite.

I woudl love ot hear what others have found out on this subject.

Ok, so I took a deeper look at the Quartermaster web page and it appears the "handcuff strap" is sold there as a "belt keeper" they have several with 2 snaps you will just need to decide which one is the most accurate.

Also they have a LawPro double handcuff case that might be the actual one used in the series, I will have to see if I can get a closer look at it on screen.
