Voyager Tricorder Dimensions

Thank you for the contact! I am familiar with building a Tricorder and also modeled one myself (I'm an E.E. student and am designing custom PCBs for it), but I am unhappy with the proportions and would love to get to the screen-used original as close as possible, down to the 10th of a millimeter (ideally without spending $200 and using measurements from the original HMS)

I hope you can appreciate my obsessive attention to detail :)
I would say if you aren't willing to spend $200 you might be in the wrong hobby.
Nothing comes cheap when it comes to original props or kits.
We are all really obsessed with accuracy too but to come on and ask someone to send you their original prop on trust as a new member, I'm sure you can see why people would be reluctant.
As an equivalent scenario, imagine if a car obsessive asked someone to send their Porsche just to have a test drive and promise to return it, it just wouldn't happen. It's the same with props, people cover them in the same way.
A Stapleton kit would be your best bet now if you want an accurate Tricorder for your collection.

I completely understand and I truly appreciate the honesty.
I meant my question to be open and transparent; I didn't intend to put anyone on the spot or anything along those lines.

I’m more than willing to spend the money and more. Simply: If someone was open to lending their raw unpainted HMS kit for a fair fee (with me providing all necessary safeguards), it might be a great way to get the most accurate measurements before committing to a replica.

I would guess it is a hand crafted replica based on measurements of an HMS original.
Do you happen to know how the Stapleton measurements differ from the HMS? I’m considering picking one up and would love to fine-tune minor inaccuracies if possible. I would really appreciate any insights.
