Perfect example of real world vs whats required for filming. No engineer would ever design a ship like the reality of what real world filming required.

In my case, I will have mine offset to the 32 degree angle to match the turbo lift even if it is stupid from a engineering standpoint.

Options are good things as long as they are clearly stated in the instructions.

Well, according to the Round 2 talk, they are shooting for a September release for the 1701 club version and an October release for the general version. Hopefully those dates stay firm.

The way I see it, once they get those grids slightly reduced, it should be fine. Personally I wouldn't mind it being released with the grids as they are since two coats of primer and/or Mister Surfacer and they should reduce just fine. Everything else I saw on that model looked great and I only wish my force powers were stronger to get me a test shot. ;)

Yup. I built my own little E too. LOL!

Aren't we stinkers!

Steve
I just wish mine wasn't being such a stinker on electrical.
Or I would really show you something.

The garage kit world does have much more latitude than mainstream kits.

But then I would rather fix the bugs with the CR kit, than have to fill in gridlines. Could you imagine the fun these kids are going to have filling in the lines through the sensorbands. You know what will happen with a little vigorous sanding(it will look more like the original 11 footer:lol).

I'm curious if the kit will have any kind of steel armature? I don't see how the nacelles and the saucer section on a kit this big don't sag over time if there's nothing substantial inside the hull to reinforce their shapes.

That topic was brought up at the R2 announcemet on Saturday. Someone asked if it would need an armature like those that people have made for the 1/350 Refit. Jamie replied with that the way the kit is designed with interlocking parts, it will not need an armature.
