i just finished adding some white leds with built in resistors to one of my helmets!! took me about 30 minutes!!:) im very happy how it turned out. i will be adding some to the clean version as well and post a step by step tutorial right after. each eye has one very bright led and i used some cut up plastic mixing cups for the inner lens to defuse the light. they both run on 1 9v battery. its not that hard to see through compared with my last attempts at this..

enjoy!!:)

the battle worn is the one thats lit

once you've gathered all your tools and materials, you will need to test the led lights before the installation.

*tack your led light with hot glue on the center of the plastic strip.*

wait for it to set.. once thats done, carefully coat the led with hot glue once that sets it should look like this

then test the finished piece

for the outer lens, i used some plastic from an old flat screen TV monitor. works great and helps spread the defused light.:)

Re: Vegas Vader's Iron Man helmet with lights

Thanks for the tutorial! Thats a great method for doing the lights. Im working on the same helmet. did you do anything to make the back open so it could be wearable? Im thinking about coming up with something and making a tutorial when Im finished. Its basically just a peg and hole system that turns the back part into something similar to lego pieces and it just snaps in place. But Im still bondoing and sanding it so it might be a little while before I get to that stage.

i used 6 rare earth magnets to hold the quarter panel in place. snaps in perfectly every time!:cool
