Valerian Spaceship, levitating

I wonder what the maximum weight would be, and how much current the levitation magnets use? Would love to display a big Jupiter II this way - maybe with remote controlled landing gear. Then modulate the levitation so that it could take off and land.

The only negative I see is that the levitation results in a constant rotation. Nice for a UFO model, though.

maximum weight is around 250g, excluding the magnets in the model. The rotation is actually created by inbalance of the model. Sadly it is very difficult (maybe impossible) to control the descent with these magnets, they use both permanent magnetics and electro magnets for levitation, but if you swap the permanent magnets for electromagnets it is possible (I think).

A touch more than half a pound. Eight ounces... not a lot. But then again, bigger magnets, more watts... it would be interesting to experiment with (if I had the time!).
