Vader nail marks? Is this placement proper?

Heck no.
The marks onthe ROTS helmet are very machined and symetrical. The ESB marks litterally look like someone pressed a washer or thumbnail into the clay. And they are very uneven too.

OOps! your right it is the ROTS. I'm not sure if they are the same.
Best bet is to search around some of the Vader helmet threads or maybe even sites just devoted to Vader costuming and ask for pics?? Wish i could help more.

Here was my ESB before I painted it balck. It has a nice coat of Gunmetal on it... there is a big diffrence in the marks.

your right they are off and set further back.

If your going to paint it up, and clear coat it, I reccomend grinding them out really good. Automotive clear coat goes on a little thick, and you'll loose some of those details like this.

Hard to tell from the pic, but they look too round to me. Placement should be closer to the eyes too.

Looks off to me, I think the grooves need to move back toward the eyes a bit. Moreso for the one on the right.
