Vader Helmets

i class myself as very Fortunate to own a VM02 Vader Helmet it is my pride and joy made all the more special by the fact i built this myself with a little help from Ojika.

I am aware there are many Fan Made alternatives available JB, GH to name a couple.

Now im not interested in which Vader Helmet is the best as i feel they are all equal in their own rights im just curious to know how many are available.

Many years ago on the RPF there was family Tree regarding Trooper helmets (anyone remember that) and their origins is there anything similar for Vader helmets,

id like to do this but i obviously need your input and a place to start.

i understand this may be a touchy sbject area for members revealing sources etc and i will understand if this thread falls flat for that reason.

It would be great to
A/ Find the Trooper helmet Family Tree
B/ make a Vader Helmet family Tree and archive them both for future reference

Unfortunately he deleted each helmet maker after he got a pic.

Well, people here didn't think it was a good idea to have them all compiled in a list on a public forum, so I deleted them... also because most basically just ignored it - got some good pictures from a few people and thanks for that. So now I keep the list on my forum instead and just ask here if I can use a picture of a helmet, if a new one pops up - sometimes I get a reply.

Doing a Vader Family Tree would imo be a bad idea - and a few have tried previously - but there is so much controversy surrounding some of the helmets that it would inevitably lead to uproar and mudslinging and the project would eventually die, as nothing will be figured out.

I tried to stay out of the politics and history of the various helmets and just compiled a list of all that I knew of and with a picture of that particular helmet. And I can tell you, there are a lot. The most difficult to categorize are the ESB/RotJ helmets, as many are a mix-match of both.

So far I've counted roughly 46 different helmets - including licensed ones.

Have to say though that the pictures are in the Privileged section of my forum, so there is a waiting time of 30 days and 20 posts to access those... but the list is available - with maker only, not different versions from same maker - on the open part of the forum.
