Vader boots

Hi,

does anybody here knows the original measurements from the vader boots in ANH (from heel to toe, calfwide outside and how tall)? What kind of leather are they? What size?
The only thing i know that they was German WW2 officier leather boots.
Thanks for help.

I don't think you have a hope or a prayer of getting those
exact measurements. But as far as Dave Prowse's shoe size
in 1976 is concerned I'm sure someone will have that.

Weird questions? Whats so wrong with that question? I need them for my original size display, so i need the same (or nearly the same) size as his actor in the movie to make it really accurate. Boots in size 8 would be looking wrong, so i need the real size of them.:rolleyes

Weird? Hardly, That's what these Forums are for, So lets get this thread going, I'm going to guess that being Prowse was 6'5" to 6'7" (it varies) that would put him in the Ball park of a size 11 to 11/2 ?, ah H*** go with 12. C

I believe he wore a UK 12 which translates to a US 13 size. Also, the boots had a "W" toe which most officer's type boots have...leather looks to be a split grain from the few pix of the boots that are around.

Well, DP often mentioned that he had big feet, which is why he changed from body-building to movies, iirc.

Ok, thanks. But size 13 should be nearly impossible to find, because the people 60 years ago were definitly lesser than the people today.

What you think about these boots. They are size 11,5. Big enough for a display vader.

They dont look too bad imho most high leg riding boots will foot the bill as you cannot really see much of the boot with the shins and inner cape covering them. While were talking about his shoe size as others have said he is said to take a wide fitting size 12 (uk). Also if you read his books he tells us that the boots he actually wore for filming were his own boots that he had had made for him for riding his motorcycle.

If this is the case would he have not kept these boots after filming so what does KE wear in the tours and what size feet did he have?

I asked Mr. Prowse about his shoe size several years ago and was told he wore a size 12. He said they were custom made as he has camel toes. So I got a size 12 EEEEEE which is the widest possible.
