We have implemented a new feature which allows members to be mentioned in posts via tagging. How is this done? Simply add the @ symbol (no space) directly in front of a members name while typing your post and the member will be automatically tagged in the post (slightly more rudimentary, but similar to how Facebook's tagging system works). Members will be notified when they are tagged in a post.
Additionally, when you quote a member, they will now be notified that they have been quoted!
Why is this being done? It helps stimulate interaction and responses by altering members to discussions that pertain to them.
For example; to make sure Alan Castillo pays attention to this post, I am typing " @ [no space] Allan Castillo" below and Alan will be tagged in this post and notified that he has been tagged. Let's see how long it takes him to respond.
Alan Castillo can't possibly get to this post fast enough to prove our point...
