OK so I think this is significantly different to most peoples to make it worthwhile noting on here. Plus I am probably going to want some help.
5-6 years ago I bought an awful lot of the Star Wars Miniatures from WOTC. These figures are generally considered to be 1/49 scale. So I would like to make my girls a playset falcon, that is to scale, and has all the features you might expect for those figures. So i Currently have two falcons 1) a legacy falcon and 2) an original trilogy falcon. So the legacy falcon is the ideal model to make a 1/48 scale for my kids to play with, but I really love it as a playset for the 3.5in figures.
Am I better keeping the legacy falcon as is, I am not sure whether its actually worth anything, it seems a shame to break it up (despite the fact I got it cheap)?
Should I sell the OT falcon? The kids have never played with it and it is in good condition (boxed, etc, it is missing the odd part that I could replace from ebay cheaply). I could then use the money from this to buy another kit/model? Maybe the Hasbro shell from 2014?
My intention is to build the internals using laser cut/etched mdf and 3d printed parts. What would be the most sensible method for building? I would want to embed lights, sounds, etc.
