Universal Orlando FL. NEW theme park announcement

Seems an odd choice to me. Unless i've missed something, there's nothing new on the horizon and they haven't done squat in nearly 10 years.

They are keeping it a secret for now, but of course, they said “to create an entirely new level of experience that forever changes theme park entertainment.”
Lots of rumours going around. Nintendo Land, more Harry Potter, with a Themed Hotel, more superhero rides, although that may be problematic with Disney's ownership in Marvel, even though they already have the Hulk coaster and a Spiderman ride.

The new area is a few miles south of the current park near the Orange County Convention Center. I wonder if it will be tied into the main park with some sort of a train or will it be a totally separate park?

So it’s a whole new park grounds?

Yep. Here is an article that shows the relative locations:

It looks like the new area is about as big as the current park!

Funny they make a move like this?

They should be spending more time and money updating what they already have. 3/4 of Universal FL is painfully outdated.

I certainly don't understand all the choices they make. As hot as the Wizarding World is, they make a ride that is Jimmy Fallon taking you on a tour of NY with his desk? But hey, they are the rich guys, certainly not me.

The Jimmy Fallon ride isn’t what is bringing people into the park, it’s the coasters. Just like some songs on an album of your favourite group, some of the rides are “filler”.

Not everyone goes for the coasters either - i'd wager most don't - they go for the experience.

I'm wondering how long that contract they signed to use marvel characters (prior to disney buying marvel) lasts. I figured the mouse would have been doing everything they could to end that deal.

My question is, how smart is it really. The location I mean. With rising sea levels, flooding and all that.

Considering my house is about 10 miles East of Universal Orlando, I hope it's darn safe! Florida is pretty flat but, Universal Orlando is about 30-40 miles from the Atlantic Ocean.

There are a couple of jigsaw cuts into the overall layout, where there are other properties. I bet the owners of them anticipate getting a tidy sum for them a few years from now as Universal seeks to expand the new park.

Comcast / Universal has plenty of issues at its currant state. They will be losing most of all their superhero’s back to marvel/ Disney soon. Harry Potter belongs to AT&T now since it’s time Warner deal. So you know they will have to buy a hefty price to keep using it. Fox was also sold off to Disney so there goes the Simpson section now too. They are nearly paying everyone else to keep their park afloat.

Sorry but minions isn’t going to keep that place going. A Jurassic park is a good idea to start with. Nintendo park would be great. Can you imagine if they had Mario cart ride. Everyone drives their own carts and passes over panels to get speed boosts or traps to slow you down. They could even build their own castle from Zelda or castlevania ( well if Konami play’s along too)
