Un-weathering a Yoda ROTS?

Has anyone ever disassembled or masked a Yoda ROTS and fixed the cheesy weathering on the grips and center band? I can get one of these cheap, and I don't mind the dings in the silver bits, and I love the dark chrome look, but the black parts look, IMO, awful.

The weathering material cleans off with nail polish remover. But I would not recommend using it on the plastic parts.

Woah, the weathering is PAINTED on? I like the finish on the metal, but I despise the scratches on the grips. Those can't be dealt with, I assume, without painting over them?

Hi,

I am new to the forum. But you can try Mr Hobby lacquer thinner. It is more forgiving on plastics then acetone in nail polish.

I have not see your item, but the lacquer thinner is for plastic models. It depends on the quality of the resin and plastic. I used it to remove paint from my vader lids, a few wipes and the paint is gone. And it did not harm the gel coat or resin coat above the fiberglass even I left it for a few hours. But for safety sake, just clean it off with a wet cloth.

Hope this helps.
