Hi all for you Dr Who fans two refurbished Police boxes on E-Bay plus they also sell the Police box perspex signs I know they are expensive but what isn't these days.

ORIGINAL RECLAIMED MK3 PUBLIC CALL POLICE BOX on eBay (end time 05-Sep-10 09:55:40 BST)

POLICE BOX FACTS.

BY 1953 THERE WERE 685 POLICE BOXES ON THE STREETS OF LONDON. POLICE BOXES PLAYED AN IMPORTANT ROLE IN POLICE WORK UNTIL 1969-1970. THEY WERE EVENTUALLY PHASED OUT FOLLOWING THE INTRODUCTION OF PERSONAL RADIOS. VERY FEW POLICE BOXES REMAIN IN BRITAIN TODAY. ONE POLICE BOX SITUATED IN THE LEICESTERSHIRE TOWN OF NEWTOWN IS STILL IN USE BY LOCAL POLICE TODAY.:angel

Waaaay too expensive. I was reading an article in the police collectors mag about old police boxes being offered on Ebay for vast sums. They just aren't worth that sort of money.

I don't know if this is the same seller but a few months ago there were unrestored boxes on Ebay for £15,000 :eek :lol
£500-£1000 is more like it.

If they find a buyer for their asking price then it obviously was worth that price, and if not it was still worth that price since that is what they wanted to part with it... In the end the value of anything is totally objective and limited to solely the buyer and seller, regardless of what anyone else says it's worth...

I think someone will buy them if not museums as they are now a rare animal I remember them being used and they were big.I doubt whether there are another two for sale in the UK now or in the foreseeable future. If I had the money I would have considered getting one not as a prop but as an historical item. I notice the old red phone boxes are being traded for 2K+ and even the old stand up letter boxes are nearly that.:angel

Yeah, if you're a museum, and you have money to spend in your budget to pull in visitors over the next 12 months, you might look at something like this as an investment. If you're anyone else, you'd probably buy a reproduction box for two or three grand sterling.

I am actually amazed that an original box somehow survived- that's very good news. Although I love that they take returns "if damaged". Those things seem a bit beyond that somehow.

Here's a more TARDIS looking box in my home city.

That is a hefty sum especially when it would have to be shipped. For 20k you could have someone build you an amazing Tardis with Karen Gillan included.
