UD Replicas TDK Batman showoff

Holy Moley! :love:love:love

I got this yesterday and wow! :love

Licensed props - what can I say about them.... In general, I stay far far away from them. When have we ever encountered a licensed prop that talented members here can't make better? When I first saw this tdk suit I was already impressed with the attention to detail. Plus, rarely do we get a prop that has this level of functionality.

Sure it's not totally accurate... it's made of leather rather than rubber. But the accuracy of the mesh, overall shape of all the pieces, and the translucent kevlar/carbon fiber pieces more than make up for the fact. Plus, the jacket is HEAVY. I mean, I'm a small guy. I don't even ride a motorcycle so I don't know what these things are supposed to feel like. However, this jacket feels like what you would imagine a suit of armor would feel like.

It took a few more days to get it out of canada (us customs and all) I was really worried because there was a big stamp on the box "INSPECTED BY US CUSTOMS" I was sure that I would open the box and there would be a massive gash through the leather. I open it, and WOW, UD replicas actually put all the pieces in seperate felt bags!! It's the little touches that really set this piece apart from any batman stuff that I have gotten over the years.

Well - either way, I can't recommend this piece, or UD Replicas enough - I thank them for a smooth flawless transaction.

My only regret is that they don't offer a bulletproof version. When I put on the jacket I really get the urge to fight crime. Sadly all I could do yesterday was go around the house and kill spiders from the corners of my room.... Those spiders died in fear of "the night" though. :lol

you may be a new licensee - but you're an "oldie" in the batman world.:) (yup, i've been stalking you ever since you were making suits for us brotherhood of the bat members...) I'm glad WB found someone who was experienced making batman suits for this project.

I can only echo every sentiment you've posted Ave4uevoli. It's been 90 degrees for the past few days so I haven't put mine on again for pictures to post (And aside from my Vader boots, I lack some shoes that would look right with the full outfit.)

But it's absolutely crazy how cool and armorlike this thing feels. I let my brother and sister put on the Jacket over the weekend and they literally gasped when I handed it to them and they zipped it up.

If this is an example of what we can expect in the future from Dave and UDreplicas, I am really excited about their future offerings and plan to do business with them again.

~Edit~ Oh yeah, look awesome on you too, congrats on receiving yours, I hope you are as happy as I am.

Absolutely stunning - I really wish i had ordered the suit now.

Just need to wait until the Begins suit is released!!!! :love

THAT IS STUNNING.

Yes, I had to YELL that out.

Knowing first hand how crazy it is control for quality, people - this is a stunning revelation in my books. Congrats to all !!

I'm not really in love with the TDK batsuit but if you guys come up with a Begins all leather suit, I am SO getting one. Leather beats rubber in oh so many ways :thumbsup

The begins suit jacket was already done. Not my pictures - some of them don't work.

The begins suit that they were talking about doing next was the nomex suit right?

My bad, I didn't know it had already been done. It looks great!

I came in late in the Batman prop collecting so I thought the TDK suit was their first shot at a Batsuit.

Thanks for the info :thumbsup

Actually that was a custom version...loosely based on that design.
Now however....we have a full Batman Begin Line almost ready for release which will have a 100% accurate replica of both the Batman suit...as well as the Nomex pre-suit.

There's a bit more in the 'In Development' page...

Where as before it was inspired by Begins....This time it IS Begins!

That's awesome, Thomas! David, you've definitely upped the ante for all licensees, dude! :cheers

So Thomas, are you gonna complete the look for display with cowl, cape, the works for an advacned... errr.... fully functional TDK Batman costume? :p

I can't wait to see this !

The jacket I saw a picture of is great but nowhere near as awesome as what you have acomplished with the TDK version. It looks more like a Batman inspired motorcycle jacket.

If a Begins suit is in the making with the level of detail and quality found on this current TDK Batsuit, that's going to require maximum self control not to order one.

I love the Batman Begins costume design but the fact that with any Batman costume you have to glue a rubber suit to an undersuit has always been a deal breaker for me. Plus rubber can dry, crack or tear whereas leather is beautiful, durable, smells great and can last for decades. Not to mention that a leather jacket can obviously be used for riding a bike which is great.

The last important thing to me is sizing. Not everyone is shaped like Christian Bale and having to use foam everywhere to try and make the suit fit is a pain. It's not very comfortable either. The fact that these leather garments are available in a whole variety of sizes is a big plus.

For costuming, what's easier than jumping into a pair of pants, a jacket and zip'em together ?

This approach is, in my book, a great alternative to rubber :thumbsup

Thanks David :cool

That looks great and fits you really well. :thumbsup
David really is a true artist, great guy as well. :) I have the please of checking one of these out in person next weekend I'm sure it'll be even better than your already wonderful pictures. :cool

I hope you don't mind, Thomas, but I figured I'd post a shot of me in the suit with cowl and belt to show how it can look for "costume use" as opposed to just regular wear or motorcycle use.

Every time I look at these suit pieces, I just can't believe they actually exist, and that I have a set. The quality is outstanding, and one of the most complex jackets I've ever seen. Love the zip out liner, removable armor plates, and adjustable straps throughout.

Impressive to see the whole suit put together, complete with a cowl and a belt. Nice!

Don't apologize Kreator - My threads are about sharing anyways - and your picture was a great kick in the ass to get myself a cowl, belt and cape. :cool
If I can get my display to look half as good as you wearing the suit I'll be happy. :thumbsup Awesome...

Kreator,
Like I said, you look outstanding!!! Thanks for the pics bud!

Here's another one... :)
