For the electronic compatible hollow cores, the sound vents are currently being cut (reminder: everyone will receive BOTH a hollow core for electronics and a solid core for display. You can decide which one to use):

I don't want to give a date, because every time I do, something happens that delays everything. But I can say that it will be soon. Hopefully by the end of the month. After he finishes cutting apart the walls of the hollow cores, and makes the aluminum rectancle for the middle of the control box, all he has left is Delrin/acetal work (IE grips, bulb release, control box). We have an outside business doing the wire forming for the loop. I don't think it's been started, but once he programs the machine, it would only take a few hours to form all the wires. We really are coming up on the end, and all day I've been working on the blueprints for the next saber. You're all gonna love how I designed it.

Solid cores are completely finished with the accurate sized hole drilled into the emitter. And the hollow core sound vents are all cut. Haven't had an opportunity to drive down and photograph them yet. Was waiting for actual interesting progress. I think he's going to be cutting away all the extra material on the hollow cores next, and then starting one of the acetal pieces.

Heh..yeah, I heard about the problems you ran into. It's a juggle. Do I use a slow machinist and sell these for $200, or do I use a fast one who can crank them out in a month or two, but have to charge $500? I went with the lower cost option, because I figured that what the majority of people would want.
But I am sorry it's taken this long. It's unacceptable, and I am beyond embarrassed about it.

Ok, so the grips have been started. Only the tops are done at the moment. All the material on the bottom still needs to be removed, and the corners adjusted to properly seat into the slots, but you can get an idea of what they're going to look like with these pics:
Here's one compared next to one of the adhesive backed silicone ones you can occasionally find on eBay:
And for those who want to see what the sabers will look like with a solid display core, here are some shots:

Will it be possible to wire up those LEDs, or will they have their legs snipped off? I'd prefer mine unsnipped, if possible!
