TOS first. Between the Diamond Select and the Playmates versions, what are the pros and cons of each (besides the price difference), considering I'd be using whatever I go with as a base for extensive modification/upgrading? Which is more accurately sized/proportioned out of the gate?
For TNG, I'm altering my Playmates Mk VII into a Mk VI. Aside from redoing the hinges, decals, lights, and top panel, it also means the removable scanner probe. I have reference images, and can probably scale it to the tricorder body easily enough, but does anyone know of any good sources for a hollow kit or 3D printing file for it? I'd prefer that to trying to scratch-build a hollow scanner with both stability and room for light and sound.
