Transformers: Age of Extinction (Post-release)

It's sad that Michael Bay can't even portray characters as well as a poorly animated 80's cartoon series. I remember Transformers having unique personalities, backstories, and compelling individual characteristics.

Yep. I broke out the Original Transformers cartoon movie last night and 10 minutes in, it was clear that the original character portrayals were 100x better than the new movies. They actually had character - I remembered why I like Jazz so much, and Megatron wasn't simply a pointless growling token bad guy.

I enjoyed the film for the spectacle, but thats it. Its on par with the others (no surprise there), and until Bay moves on from doing these, they're not going to really get any better. His focus is on the "spectacle" of it all, not on story, or characters. Its just his style :)

Look, at this point, anyone who watches a Michael Bay movie knows what they're paying for (either in cash, time, sanity, or all of the above). Michael Bay makes big dumb movies with big dumb characters, and big dumb 'splosions. If you're in the mood for that and/or you like that style, I imagine you could probably watch any Michael Bay film and be happy with it, because, let's be honest, you aren't in it for the story or the acting. You're in it for the 'splosions.

Everyone else should just ****ing know better by now. Seriously. You get ZERO sympathy from me if you watch a movie like this and then complain about how bad it is. It's a Michael Bay movie. Do the math, man!

You'know one thing I feel I have to say about Bay.......

I'm not so sure just how many of his films I've seen before he did Transformers (The Rock maybe?) but certainly after that I noticed the guy on account of all the red hot hate directed in his general direction I wasn't quite sure if it was right,I wasn't so sure if it was warranted but I never saw anything he was doing that made me want to see it so I thought maybe he'll put something out that I'll give a shot.....

Well a month ago at a friend's and they put on Pain & Gain...I sat through it,ALL of it and by gawd that was just TOO weird :wacko

Bay is..I dunno,he's just a freak if he does films like that not good, not funny, just WEIRD.

His take on Transformers no longer surprises me.

I haven't seen it yet, but when I do it'll just to see giant robots fighting other giant robots. That's all I need the movie to be.

While I wish the Transformer movies were more than they are, this trailer does have a bit of a point:

Bad CGI? Did you watch the same movie I did? It’s no different than all the other movies, in fact extremely impressive CGI.

No this was just a bad dream and a waste of ticket money for a lot of people. The third movie was bad, but at least it managed to keep going at a decent pace. This one...Jeebus I dunno who was doing the CGI and editing but they needed to be fired, and then set on fire. Bad script, bad acting, bad CGI, bad plot, choppy action sequences, and way too much pyrotechnics for minimal effect.

Meh, I thought the CGI was fine, Wahlberg did a good job with what he was given, the chick playing the daughter was hot. I actually REALLY liked Stanley Tucci's performance. I needed those comedic interjections, & he did a great job of it. The flick was WAY TOO LONG, & a 'CGI disaster porn' overdose. So yeah.
