Gonna get started on this tomarrow, from the episode "Day One", heres a few screencaps. Cool little prop, pops up a force field cell when thrown and activated, course my replica wont do that, but itll look cool

as soon as i saw this prop i thought i have got to make that
i might cast it from pewter
but i thinki will make my first from milliput
just to see how it goes

Got a sculpt done and didnt get a chance to take pics, will this afternoon.

we'll see how it turns out and if everyone else likes it, im doing a few to get it right. Idealy, id like to get it molded and cast with metal poweder mixed resin, but not sure since it seems more like a stone than metal.

on the torchwood siteit looks like stone
but on the show it looked metalic
but that maybe lighting
its bound to show up again so we will see if it looks diferent
in other light conditions

ok here we go, blurry cause my camera sucks on small items like this, but until i get outside in the sunlight tomarrow, this is the best ive got:

Not entirely happy with the shape, my first one was closer, so I may redo it if others agree. The clear shot up in this thread from the Torchwood site is slightly angled giving it a different shape, the most straight on shot i believe is the one where its glowing near the girls feet, pictured in the first thread, so that was the shape i was going for.

im also gonna express the cut grooves a bit more, mine dont look quite rough or angled enough, getting there though.

Wow looking Really good. What did you make it out of?

hand sculpted sculpey with acrylic paint, the paint is thick enough that i could create the more textured surface with the paint itself and then weather over that.

i got my retry done last night, just didnt finish painting it for pics, hopefully ill get it up tonight.

Here is the finished resculpt, much clearer pictures and detail. Forgot to get a sideview pic, but its the same thickness and roundness as the screenshots above.

HA HA so true Zev, man i hope these do become availble kick ass prop kylash, i hope we get to see more of it used in the series than just for one ep
