I had tried to get a refund immediately after the link snafu above..

They told me it was 'shipped'.. then days later got an email saying 'it just shipped'.. so the website status (while bogus) was something they were adhering too no matter what.

I havent found support very helpful so far.

Yeah, they basically said the same about the box part of my shipment. They were good about refunding me for the arc though. Hopefully you just get the right one and don’t have to worry about it, but if you do end up with the MKII and the one you bought had pics of the MKI they’ll probably refund you.

Or I can send you my hair trimmer and you can say you got that instead of the arc reactor, haha.

No worries!

I just wanted to get a known 'good link/seller' in case my is garbage too! LOL

Thanks for the update! :)

Question:

Anyone notice the ODD pricing stuff going on, on the WISH site?

You can get a deal if you add to cart within XX minutes..

but if you go back to product. its lower.. and if you purchase with other people (group buy underneath).. its even cheaper..

I'm now down to $20.00.. when it started @ $26 when I iniitally loaded the page.. so adding to cart.. going back.. group buy.. going back..etc..etc has changed the pricing for me. odd.

I believe this is the arc reactor everyone is looking for in the video below. Its from Mando Studios and I ordered one from their FB page as they and said many other retailers were using their images on eBay, Wish, etc. Kit was $136 shipped to the US for the deluxe version with the metal base, metal parts, and display case. Should be here by next week. I also included links to their Instagram, FB page and eBay store

Nice!

$136 USD! WOW!.. big price jump form the WISH prices (but this also the metal version...correct?)

(Roughly) $60.00 USD more for the full/deluxe kit (with display)...than on WISH..

I hope mine is not a scam/fake piece... :(

Metal is nice.. but these will be display pieces mostly..

I wish the vector files were available... I have a laser cutter.. I'd like to try and cut some out myself!

My laser cutter just isnt used enough.. :(

Group question:

If you can alter the electronics... what would you have your Arc Reactor do?

Doesnt have to be just lighting effects.... (although those are legit mods)

Colors?
Audio?
Additional sensors to 'do stuff'?

Everything I've seen about Wish has been "buyers beware". Getting products that are nothing like what you ordered or what's pictured seems to be the norm rather than the exception.

xl97 As a fun alteration, I'd look into a sensor to detect when someone touches the metal portions, then connect it to an operation buzzer effect. Not quite what happened when Pepper swapped the reactor, but it'll get a reaction out of anyone touching it.

DrCyanide

Good idea! and easy to do!

I was thinking some audio clips (Jarvis or RDJ...etc).. or uni-beam firing sounds?

even started to think about functional... maybe a time and/or temp sensor.. (and I can find good enough audio clips, have it speak the temp/time)

P.S. I still own a you response via PM.... I'll get dimensions!! :)

I have friends who buy from them all the time with no problems. It just takes forever to get your stuff.

I think my biggest problem with all of these listings is determining which set of parts you are going to end up with. Some more recent kits show them coming with a copper ring that fits around the brass ring sections and comes with the decorative plug. Some of the kits do not

The listing "I" did..

Had NO options for checkout (ie: MK1 or MK2..etc)

BUT.. had images for BOTH.

I see the decorative plug (seems to be on most MK2 versions?)... but I'm not sure about the copper ring thing?

This part

As far as the mando replica, they all appear to be the same. If anything, mando appears to be overcharging for a pretty cheap, widely available kit

Got my kit. To clarify a few things, i paid 38 dollars with shipping, it came with the plug, it came with the copper ring(you might see it under the black circle), it took about four hours to build(three hours wrapping the copper wire), and it was from Mando.

One last thing, I haven’t done the soldered bridges yet. I bought some brass colored wire to do it, and I tried using super glue to simulate solder joints, but it looked terrible and just made a mess of the thing, so I ripped all of that off and sanded it back down. I’ll update when I figure out what I want to do
