Tinker Bell (Disney) Costume

For an upcoming Renaissance Faire, I am putting together a Disney Tinker Bell costume. I'm going to try to make it a bit like the updated Tink in that I plan to add leaf vein details to the dress and wings. Reference photos:

For the main costume, I'm using a plain white corset dress from Corset Story that I painted with Green Apple colored fabric spray paint.

I used the same green apple fabric paint on a tutu that I made out of tulle (cut to create jagged edges) and I also dyed the corset ribbon to match:


The color turned out more vibrant and uniform than I expected (first time using spray fabric paint). I didn't want to use immersion dye because I was worried it would warp the fabric. The dress is made of a thick polyester satin material. The next step will be painting the leaf details onto the dress. I'm making pom poms to clip onto my shoes and styling a wig into Tink's signature bun. Will post more photos soon!

Updates:

I purchased these fairy wings from Etsy (designer: FairyTrade):


And made my own shoe decorations by gluing large white pom poms to shoe clips:

The shoes I'm using were just some old pumps that I painted green first and then added coats of Mod Podge mixed with green glitter.

For the wig, I cut and styled a blonde anime wig:

Hopefully I can keep those long bangs out of my face!

For the detailing on the dress, I drew on some leaf veins with silver 3D fabric paint and then glued on a sprinkling of Swavorski crystals with E6000:

It's a little rough, being hand-painted, but I think it worked out overall.

So far, so good! Waiting for the paint to dry to try on the whole costume together!

It was fun dressing up like Tinker Bell and I loved wearing a costume that wasn't too hot in the sweltering heat today... Hook, on the other hand, had a slightly harder time!
