Who has them molded up? Pics? I havn't seen anything...
These have been posted before but the owner of the mold (SG Merc) has not logged in in over a year so no progress.

Here's the part I was talking about, with the flat lens. You can see a perfect reflection of a streak of water from the car window.

It sounds like the big hang up is not being able to find the lenses used as an existing piece. We have some talented artists here. Wouldn't it just be possible to scratch build or cast something? I'd be perfectly content to not have mine zoom in like the movie. Heck, I want these so badly, they don't even need to light up if it's not feasible, if it means the difference between having a pair and not having one. I'd do it myself if I had anywhere near the amount of skills needed. :p

Ha ha ha, Boogeyman! I agree to a point. I would truly want these but I know the prefectionism around here and I forsee these never being done unless they has a wokring mechanism in them or at least lights.

LOL, well, I probably exaggerated a bit there. I would certainly prefer some lights in mine as well. :)

I just meant that since it's pretty clear by now that we're never going to find out exactly how these things were built, or what materials were used, perhaps it's time to think of a work around, or at least get them to look similar. I mean, unless someone actually wants to try and make these physically work as night vision goggles, surely there's enough reference material to sculpt some casts and use some stock plastic or glass lenses?

I'm retracting my previous statement about the lenses being 100% custom. I was watching the scene again earlier today, and noticed the crosshairs are actually on an automatic lens cover that flips out of the way when Tim turns them on...

I just don't see them putting that much work into a prop with around a minute of screentime...

I beg to differ Drew....I see this as a 1993 movie when they put time into minor stuff like this.

I'd love to talk to the prop guys who worked on it and get the details straight from the horses mouth on this.

That's true, I didn't think of it that way. I guess I'm just so used to all the CG nowadays...

Plus, it's possible they were supposed to have more screentime, but the scenes got cut...

Since Side Fx has found the suspensions for the goggles on the shelves i figure it's time to share the grey suspension on the goggles in the pic where they are apart. It's from a U.S. Safety Welding helmet model # 451000AR. Here is what it looks like. Mine are in storage and these are the only pics i have of it.

Good to know...

dont know yet, but I guess I'm not able to get one of Rylos Run, so maybe I try to make it myself and see how it turns out with normal parts from the store, and maybe the frame could be done with pepakura, if there is no other source out...

I'm in the same boat, i'll be making my own. Still trying to figure out the lenses. Looks like they are the insides of another lens.

I remember when I was searching the stores for ecto goggles parts, I found a pipe-connector, that looks very familar to the lenses...

Here I was thinking I was the only weirdo in the entire world who wanted these Jurassic Park night vision goggles, and I Google and come across this! I have been totally mesmerized reading your highly intellectual thoughts on this topic. I didn't realise how much effort it would take to obtain/create them! I eBayed and had no luck and my now my next option is to jump on the conga line of many and say, I too would love to have some is anyone is considering to make them!

Sorry guys, my sculpt never progressed beyond a rough prototype. Real life intervened, and I haven't been able to do any new prop work on anything.

Anyway, I see that Side FX is doing an amazing job fabricating the frontal part of the NVGs. I am excited to see his work come together, and wish all of my fellow JP NVG fans the best.
