The Seeker: The Dark is Rising

I find it interesting the number of changes made from book to movie -- as in it is almost completely unrecognizable.

Interesting to is that instead of all the signs being the same (a simple cross in a circle) but of different material, all the signs are now stylized versions of the cross and their element. I wonder if he'll wear them on his belt like in the book.

The book was not bad, but definitely needed to be read when I was young enough to forgive loose storytelling. I think if I'd read it in fifth or sixth grade, I'd have been addicted.

I thoroughly enjoyed the preview for what it was, and I sincerely hope this film doesn't turn out to be an Eragon.

I think the signs would be cool to make:

Derivative garbage based on badly written, mostly stolen material made by people just wanting to cash in on the current fantasy movie craze?:lol

I haven't read them so I'm sure I'll love the movie. From what I've been hearing so far about the books, it's probably better this way.

"An Eragon". Nice. And so true.

Well that takes care of that then. Anyone read The Lovely Bones? I hear that's going to be made into a film. It's not fantasy but there could be some props to be made.

As bad as the movie really was, I was thinking about attempting the signs. I was looking a little closer and different materials would have to be used. Any ideas?

got this out of the cheap bin at Wally-world for my 10yr old :lol

didn't know if anyone ever tired the signs or not
