The sculpt that never was

I never posted this on the lair. I made this sculpt in January and took pictures. But them the person I was staying with moved it out on the porch and did not cover it. Its WED clay so when I went to look at it a few months later it had dried out and there were gigantic cracks on the front and back. But it was a fun little exercise and I have my pics.

The front is pretty accurate and the back I made up. I did not have any pictures of a P1 back. But I'm going to attempt a life size P2 statue next- so if anyone has pics of the movie P2 unpainted - track me down in chat and let me know. Every little bit helps!

Very nice! You are quit the sculptress. :D Put wet towels on it and put it in a trash bag. Will bring back the(sexy) moisture. :(

a moment of silence for the piece that died on the porch...... :(

Mel i'll see what i can find for ya.....

It was pretty close to the original. But I need more practice with the skins sculpts as they aren't perfect yet. Another reason I'm not too upset about losing this sculpt.

Not too perfect?!?!?! I guess that means the next time you think you have a 'crappy' piece, you could throw it my way instead of chucking it into the trash.

 The sculpt was junked because of the cracks.

I think my piece looks a little flat compared to the original. And also its too sharp edged. But I will be paying attention to that next time.

WOW! I know the artist is always the harshest critic of all their creations, but I mean, c'mon Mel...that piece looks so freakin' cool it makes all my stuff look like it was made by the kid who's always gotta wear a helmet!

j/k! I'm still in awe to see how much farther you (& a few others) will keep pushing up the talent bar. I only wish to be able to do ANYTHING as well as some of the gang here can do to a lump of clay!

As artists we are our own worst critics. But I was basically saying what I would have posted to anyone who had sculpted that. If they were going for screen accurate- which I was.

Mel, No wonder you moved. No one should be putting your work out on the porch. I remember this piece. Very nice. I really like the back. I do see what you mean by the flatness but I think the actual skin texture was quite organically realistic. Keep on stroken. Boy that is an old saying
