One of the great things about working at Disney is the number of ways employees can feel the spirit of the most wonderful time of the year at The Walt Disney Studios lot. Of course, our most iconic Yuletide reminder is the Santa hat that sits atop Dopey's head on the façade of the Team Disney Building. It sets the perfect tone as you stroll the lot during the holiday season—the nip in the air turning your cheeks pink.

This year, thanks to the Walt Disney Archives, there's another must-see holiday sight—courtesy of the Walt Disney Archives and on display in the Archives showcases on the first floor of the Frank G. Wells Building. The Archives is celebrating the season with a display of set pieces and costumes from three special Disney movies: The Santa Clause (1994), The Santa Clause 2 (2002), and The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause (2006).

In fact, many of the props are being shown for the very first time, just for Disney employees. Besides the recognizable cocoa mug and serving tray (presented by elf Judy to Santa Claus in the film), other items that you can't miss are the E.L.F.S. jet pack, the snow globe featuring Jack Frost (Martin Short), young Charlie's red snow boots and an intact beautiful glass tree topper (broken by accident in The Santa Clause 2).

One of the greatest parts about being a Disney archivist is that you get to share treasures from Disney's long legacy with employees and you, Disney's greatest and most loyal fans. We hope you enjoy the gallery below—our festive tribute to the 20th anniversary of The Santa Clause, starring Disney Legend Tim Allen.

Voice-activated commemorative pen. Plastic icicle ballpoint pen with large plastic green and purple-striped "candy" on top, with holes for speaker in candy. This is the pen that Scott/Santa fools Jack Frost with in The Santa Clause 3: The Escape Clause.

If all this nostalgia has you hankering for a holiday treat, then check out our recipe for a gourmet snack for Santa. Gingerbread Beignets are a popular dessert this time of year at Club 33 in Disneyland. And the easy eggnog Anglaise for dipping is the proverbial icing on the cake.

There were a variety of snow globes made. If memory serves they started out as off the shelf items, gutted and new one off sculpts were inserted. I forget if they were filled with baby oil or distilled water.

Those elf chairs for SC3 had me very light headed for days on end. A vintage Disney original was brought in that was metal, we took it apart for moulding and casting. The casts were strait pour a kast. The same was done for work tables and sleigh parts for SC3. We made an entirely new sleigh for SC3.

The light up pens were again off the shelf. Each was hand dipped in a clear epoxy resin, and redipped multiple times then shaped as they cured. Some sanding and sculpting as well as needed.

If you happen to find the child's carousel mobile (that would sit above a babies bed) with its miniature items those were also scupleted by hand then cast. But there was the issue of it being practical for it's spinning function. The parts were all weighted with various bits (lead shot, washers, steel shavings...) so some were cast out of feather lite and others pour a kast as needed.

I still have the fabricate layout prints for the elf console and Santa's sleigh console. It was mixed up with the Sky High bus dashboard as both were being done on the same table.

There is an interesting Sci FI aspect to SC3 that became reality. The elf's had tablets, smart phones, smart pens, wireless earpieces, full smart home systems and voice accessible computers, in 2005. The iPhone didn't exist until two years later.
