Just finished this shadow box for one of The Neverending Story Auryn that i bought from VashDstampede a couple of years ago.
(Big thanks to his wife for sculpting it :thumbsup )

I got the shadow box from a second hand store. It contained an ugly plastic flower, but all of the box was glued with a glue gun so it was easy to heat up and rip apart.

I repainted the frame black, and painted the Auryn with gold and silver paint. At first i tried to do gold /silver leafing. But i had no skill to do it correctly, so i stripped it and painted it instead.
For the snake eyes i used 4 small diamonds (fake) that was on a female arm bracelet that i found outside one day.

The original shadow box had a glass sheet as back piece but i switched it out for a piece of paperboard. (best used of a Episode One Poster:lol )
I added a piece of red velvet fabric onto the paperboard and glued the chain onto it as well. Then added the auryn. Glued it all up again and now i just need place it on the wall.

I love it Conny !

Gotta like these 'transformer' threads :).

Good job on the box & on the Auryn :cool :thumbsup

that turned out great, i've got a few of those frames i picked up for my jaws teeth and other bits, you just reminded me, a cheap alternative to making or buying a premade one

I've purchased a few "art store" shadow boxes and display cases for my props. They work nice if you can get the right fit for the right prop and are generally an inexpensive option compared to having a custom display case made.

Shadow boxes are perfect for props like the Auryn.
