After running the numbers at a couple of online places, it comes to around $1000 for a bronze-steel material. Too much to be practical.
I'm basically removing 5 as an option, even though it would be the coolest.

I was already on the interest list, could you put me down specifically for #1? Is there a price for additional sets of springs as well? I'll probably be making myself more than one.

So, the springs in this instance are a custom size and I only ordered so many, because they're actually pricey. Also, the posts that go through the flaps are included, but could be ordered separately. In short, the springs I already have are spoken for. I will post the spring-guy's contact info if you wish to order some yourself. The post (for lack of a better word) is a short straight 1.6mm rod. One per flap. Eight flaps. I got them off of Amazon. I can post that info as well.

MTB should start printing the keys for me within 7 or 8 days. He's fast at finding time to print them. (unlike me) Option 1 could start just a bit sooner than that. Option 1 may involve a bit of sanding, due to the need for a tight fit and normal variation of print accuracy.

I have allowed a small number of extra springs, in case someone legitimately loses or damages their springs. But not enough for people on the list to be doubling up on springs. I spent almost $200 just on springs for this project.

Ahh that's right, I didn't think about the fact that no matter which option you chose it would be the same number of springs haha.

Yep, I was expecting January, but it sorta turned into February.
