The Hobbit - starts filming March 21

The Hobbit was the first novel I ever read at age 5. Looking forward to this movie very much.

Excellent! Can't wait to see how they turn out. ^_^ Mr Jackson is...well, is it me or does he look right at home in that new picture? Like he actually lives there? XD

I can't wait to see how Smaug looks, especially at 48 FPS and in 3D!

They did a great job on the Balrog.

I'm glad Peter Jackson gets to direct.

I've always viewed the Hobbit as kind of kiddified and a little silly, but enjoyed it for what it was nonetheless. However, watching the first video blog on rottentomatoes, I got shivers. I'm so excited to go back to Jackson's Middle Earth now!

For God's sake, why NOT?

Legolas was the son of Thranduil, who is the "Elvenking" of Mirkwood in the Hobbit. Why SHOULDN'T Legolas be at his father's court?

I haven't been this excited about a movie hitting theaters since The Dark Knight. It's so hard to get excited for movies anymore. I know Peter Jackson will bring greatness back to the screen once again. I can't wait for the trailer.

I'm looking forward to seeing Legolas again. It's one character that Bloom plays that does not annoy me.

I think I could live without Captain Obvious in the Hobbit.

I've heard that a lot of the extra scenes will be things like the White Council meetings and the attack on Dol Guldor.

Though I really want to know how the hell Frodo gets an appearance in a movie which takes place 30 years before he was born?

From what I've heard, he's going to be the narrator of the movie. He'll be reading from the Red Book in Rivendell, and the story will open from that.

I don't know that he'll narrate; he may just open and close the films in Fellowship-era bookends. They're bringing back Ian Holm for these scenes as well.
