No real progress to report, but I've been gushing over behind the scenes vids recently so I think this week will yield some results. Spotted this image on Peter Jackson's facebook page, and I'm absolutely jealous of this chainmaille, I might have to find a way to create/find these rings.

Hey man love what you're doing with this I found the thread looking for reference pics for my own armor and i have some questions if you don't mind.
1. How thick is the foam you're using and is it all eva foam?
2. What are you using for an adhesive is it hot glue or something else?
3. How hard was it to make the neck flanges to taper out?

1. It's EVA foam yes, I think that it's about 1cm wide, I'd love to find some .5mm, but the 1cm tends to work really well with the style of dwarf armour, since it's so chunky.
2. Yup, just hot glue.
3. It was a bit tricky, It's weird because it's at an odd angle. The foam is a lot easier to bend when it's a small piece though, so the fact that it's a small strip helped, but I still cut it in a big horseshoe style curve. To get the bevel on it I used a dremel with a sanding tip to take away a lot of material fast. I suppose I could have done it with a knife but my cutting skills at that point weren't as good and that would have resulted in a much harsher corner, I like the rounded edge it has.

Anyone know the story behind the dwarf sword of thorin?
His sword is normally Orcrist, but where is the dwarf sword from? Can't find any information about it...?!?

Half of me is super excited to see other peoples methods and results for this costume, the other half of me wants to say "NO IT's MY COSTUME, NO ONE CAN EVER DO IT BUT ME SO I AM INTERNET FAMOUS AS THAT GUY" I'm trying really hard to be nice about it, hah.

So I'm sure tons of you would enjoy this amazing Kickstarter. I've got a day or so left to decide whether or not to donate $500 to it to be one of the Dwarven Lords, which I REALLY GOD DAMNED WANT TO DO!!! I'm super excited about this game, I want to be in it, and force people to play with my Dwarven likeness, which would be the GAYEST OF DWARF OF MANLINESS!! I want him holding a big pink Daiquiri, because not all Dwarves HAVE to drink mead and ale, some of them have tastebuds.
