The Game of Thrones "Coin of the Faceless Man" from ThinkGeek

Ok so I was SO psyched when I saw the coin of the faceless man offered on Think Geek and I just got it in. Honestly I'm pretty disappointed. It's no bigger than a quarter and if you look at the screen shot, it's supposed to be closer to the size of a challenge coin. It's thinner than a quarter too.

I DIDNT expect it to be screen accurate, but I didn't expect it to be so small.

I'd love to see a more screen accurate version that's a larger coin, and more rough/medieval stamped looking instead of a perfectly cast circle.

Still glad I got it, but not what I was expecting.

Anybody else get one of these or was thinking of it?

That coin is from Tom Maringer of shirepost.com. He has the license direct from GRRM to produce coins based on the book. The coin in the show has no details to really reproduce, so if ThinkGeek is marketing it as a replica from the show, then they should change that.

I have many of Tom's ASOIAF coins and they are all awesome. Pretty soon I hope to get one of his gold Dragons. I just wish I could afford an actual gold one. I'll have to settle for the brass version

Excellent info! I definitely appreciate mine more now. And Those are great pictures of the prop from the show!! I'd love to see somebody replicate that version too.

You can really see how big the hand of the king pin is there as well! I have the version sold in the junkyard right now, which is already much bigger than the one sold by HBO online, but that prop is easily twice as big as the version I have.

Yeah, they are meant to be more along the lines of the book version rather than the show version, which I'm hoping someone will make too. Check out this link with info from the maker of your coin:

I'm actually making an "iron coin" right now (out of clay)... I was going to go with the size of a Silver Eagle coin.... about 1.5 inches... or even 2 to make it a necklace... I like the screen used version better and it looks about that size to me... I'll post it up when i get it made...

I just realized this was over a year old, so I'm sorry about that...
