The Complete Making of Indiana Jones book!

I can't wait for Rinzler's "Making of Empire" update. I hope I don't have to wait until 2010 for the 30th Anniversary!

I also wish John Knoll would knock out another SW book. His comments on the 365 book were great.

Has anyone picked this up yet? I ran by the local B&N yesterday and they didn't have it, so I haven't had a chance to check it out. I'd love to hear other folks' opinions before I order it.

I haven't "picked it up" yet, but I have browsed through it ;)
It covers the making of all 4 movies, has a section about HOW they made the crystal skulls and for those who havent seen the movie by the time they get the book, it contains spoilers galore ;) definitely worth buying.

"May 20th release date. Hmmm, why'd they pick that day?"

To compete with the dvd release of the Muppet Show Season THREE!!

At least, that's how MY wallet sees it...

Came back just a bit ago from my local borders and they had 4 copys. Looked through it and alot of interesting stuff in there, will definatly pick this up when I have some money.

I was so excited that my copy arrived from Amazon, but as usual, the packers simply threw it in (with my other Indy books) along with the "ultra-protective" bubble wrap roll. As you can guess, it came damaged (rather noticeable rip/tear/wrinkle on the bottom of the front cover) along with a horrible case of shelf-wear. How you get wear on a new publication is beyond me...

Needless to say, it's going back to the warehouse today for a replacement. What I saw while flipping through looked great though!

My local Border's received a few copies. Are they only available in paperback? I was looking for a hardback, like the Making of Star Wars, but only saw the softback copy.

Which FC did it ship out from? (hopefully not mine :p)
I work at the Mercer Road FC in Lexington KY.
I saw a few go out today, hardback and soft.
The skulls appeared to have been sculpted from clay and then moulded, they appeared to have made a solid cast and then there was another (the filmed version) that (to my eyes) looks hollow with shrink-wrap stuffed inside. I'm sure thats NOT how they did it but it's how it looks :p
Didn't really have time to take a closer look at the article in that part, just the pics...

A NY Comic-Com I discussed this very thing with the publisher, who told me that if the book sells well (probably really well) then they'd consider doing an extended hardcover. Indy isn't Star Wars and a pricey hardcover is too risky until it's proven that the audience is there.

Sorry, I didn't even check before I put everything back in the box. (I guess I could go back and find the tracking info).

In the past, I've received many of my items from the Coffeyville, KS FC. I'm sure you're in the clear. ;)
