I saw this in action in Japan, as Kow Yokoyama uses it (Calls it his "lightsaber"). It's a little scary to think it'd cut the CRAP out of a finger... but then again, since you don't need to bear down with weight to make a cut (besides enough to control it, like you would on a jigsaw), the chances of a blade jumping out or off of your object and into skin are greatly reduced. I'm famous for doing that, so hopefully I can avoid stitches from now on, heh.

Trimming resin away from pour stubs will be a cinch now!

Seems to run around $430 now with the Yen being so strong, but I Googled a little and found it for $350.

Cool tool! Ouch on the price though. Have you tried longer blades so it might cut like a miter saw?

Awesome tool!!
But there's no way I can justify $350 for a knife.
Also found a link that there's now a "335" for only $950. WOW :eek

Its just the tool i need right now, its very impressive, but, not impressive enough to warrant that price, thats pretty ridiculous for a scalpel, posh though.

My god, do want. Dremel for basic cleanup on resin isn't a good thing at all; the amount of resin I've inhaled from cleaning up X-wings alone...

Maybe one day guys...QVC will answer our prayers LOL. Not having some kind of "exacto elbow" would be awesome. Wonder if a clinic exists in Beverly Hills for said affliction :lol?

lol! Maybe I can attach an exacto to my sonic care toothbrush, hmmmmm...
Seriously, tho, that is a wonderful little blade.

That's what those disposable masks at the hardware store are for. ;)

Considering the price on that ultrasonic cutter, I'll stick to the old school methods thankyouverymuch.

Woo - this thing is awesome.

However, how easy is it to cut a straight line with it. I suppose you could use a metal ruler?

I just saw this. Holy crap is that cool! I'm wondering as well, though, how does it react if you cut along a metal ruler with it? Straight and true, or do the vibrations cause issues with the metal?

It squeaks a little, lol! Also has the ability to SUPERHEAT the ruler if you hold it tightly against the blade. It's weird!
