The Amazing Spider-Man (reboot) movie discussion

Am I the only person who is okay with the new suit? I don't mind it. Parker is a nerd in the most classic sense. More than likely today's generation picture a scrawny dude. Garfield is a good actor and I have confidence.

I love the new suit. I think it has a more classic vibe than the Maguire one.

I have total confidence in Garfield - but I wish they would go with a Ditko style fabric suit. It seems like all of these Superhero movies are trying to out-do each other with all of these elaborate designs. I know the real motor behind the suit change is so kids will buy more toys (all we had was one costume and it was on the greatest toy line ever - Mego), but there is no way = NO WAY Peter Parker could just toss together this thing in his room. I've heard this movie has been redone as a sort of a fill in the gap between Toby going from The Human Spider to Spiderman and this suit was before he came up with the classic design - but that doesn't fit at all. And if that is what they are going for -- it's just plain silly. I'd have loved to have seen them go back to the classic construction. Too much rubber -- that's what she said.

"Never enough rubber." - That's what she meant.

Yeah, I agree. There was no way Parker could've made his last suit, and definitely no way that he has the ability to make this one. I don't even want to try Pepekura, let alone get a bunch of rubberized material and sew together a skintight bodysuit.
 
So glad they're going back to webshooters! And I like the suit, though I agree it's unlikely he made it himself...maybe the movie explains this, like the Nolan Batsuit it was a mostly found item or something?

Really hated the Raimi movies, so this is pretty exciting stuff for me :)
 
The outfit looks okay but I always wonder just how practical is a rubber suit? it's hot,it's sweaty,it won't breath and you probably feel like a giant condom....
 
The Amazing Spider-Man Teaser Trailer is leaked, but unlike resisting other leaked trailers I didn't waste one second not watching this. More Parker than Spider-Man, but it is a teaser and I loved it.

Dr. Connors is Lizard and from the looks of the teaser poster he lands a few hits on Spidey! The suit looks... Suitable lol. If Peter made the suit himself then how come he isn't a member here?? The blue sections look like rubber netting attached while the rubber was drying. His head is less of a basketball and more of a brick pattern/ honeycomb pattern... My God how does he breathe!??

The more I see of this suit and also seeing the teaser trailer...I'm really starting to like the whole look. Hoping for a good movie. I think Garfield will do a good job.
 
So he has bands with websbooters as Peter... Are they built into his Spidey suit? I don't see em in the pics shown above.

I'm guessing they're just to control his webs and point straight out instead of being like Havoc and get it all over (up until Beast made him a device to control his power too of course)

The organic webbing is just something James Cameron had in his script that Raimi liked.

I think Emma Stone said in an interview that the webs are not organic and are made via the webshooters. It is shown on the spider suit - especially during the trailer.
 
I like the tone of the movie, although even my wife complained "Didn't they already show that in the Tobey movies?" referring to the origin, him getting bitten etc.

I think the first person view is cool, I think Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield will be great, I still have major issues with the costume. Primarily texture / basketball rubber look, and the fact that the webbing is not even webbing shaped, it's like a grid of graph paper.

There is also a couple of shots of Garfield "hand sewing" something red in the trailer, which I assume is the suit. I can see they are trying to justify it's hand made by him, but the design is just a bit too outlandish for me.
