Hopefully that will shut the haters up. This suit is awesome.

I noticed the decided to blur the feet out so we can't tell if the silver is going to be there or not

They hid the silver feet, the missing belt, the dirty crotch, the red leg stripes, the crummy back spider and shoulder notch... Of course it looks awesome. They're showing the stuff that belongs.

Re: Spider-Man (reboot) movie discussion

If by "sick" you mean "had a grid vomited on it where the webs should be by the 1990's EXTREEEEEME costume department" then yes, it's pretty sick. The feet are blurred so he doesn't entirely look like he's about to take a run down a ski slope cuz those silver abominations really put it over from Spider-Man to Skier-Man. Is this a teaser for a movie or the next Winter Olympics? Oh right, forgot, this movie isn't for the people who like Spidey as a character it's for kids who know him from their backpack. Moving on...

I liked the first promo shot, but the leaked shots were taken out of context and it didn't do much for me. I was prepared to like further official shots and I'm not disappointed with this new one. It's def a night time/dark suit or at least a suit that should be worn with poor lighting (not a jab at the suit).

spiderman is not batman.....spiderman fights during the day and night....nothing can hide that hideous costume during sun light haha

Re: Spider-Man (reboot) movie discussion

The costume looks bad as a Spider-Man costume, even in this promo shot where it's dark and they seem to be trying to hide some of the worst bits. At the very least, you can play tic-tac-toe or checkers on his forehead (ya, where the webbing should be??).

As much as I dislike the costume, the movie isn't a total washout for me - at least not yet. If they can provide a great story and stick some of the pertient details the flick can be saved. That said, Gwen shouldn't survive this movie... Emma Watson would've made a great MJ - and appears to be much more of a solid choice as Gwen then I would've expected. Yet, I do wonder... are the filmmakers really prepared to give us two deaths of supporting characters in one movie - that is Uncle Ben and Gwen. Do they save Gwen's death for a sequel?

If I had my way - the first thing I'd lose is the terrible costume, but after that - Gwen dies at the end of this movie.

Re: Spider-Man (reboot) movie discussion

Yeah, but has anyone noticed the fingertips?

i dont think that he'll have to figure out the wall climbing thing on his own. if you look at the other fingers they dont have the design on htem like the thumb does. i think that when pressed maybe it makes a differant type of web shoot out? like a net type of webing? i dont know, its probably just a design thing but i deffinatly think he'll be able to climb the walls because of the spiderbite and not omething he invents.

Re: Spider-Man (reboot) movie discussion

i like the new suit, and am very excited for the reboot, i was a fan of Raimi's series but i think they were a bit too goofy

Re: Spider-Man (reboot) movie discussion

Actually the other fingers DO have that design on them, for what it's worth.

Toby was a horrible Spiderman and an even worse Peter Parker - his voice sounds like he's always about to go to sleep. Reading the script a few months back i was literally knocked for a loop - it was AWESOME, but as is true with all good things - they have made changes to it and I have no idea where it is now. Also, the Arrad's are both involved with this thing- getting fired from Marvel had no effect on their ties to Spidey for the next few years and THAT is also cause for concern. I'm sure the first thing to go in the script (knowing the producers) were the character exchanges that made me like this version of Peter much much more than the previous films. If you notice - the only things that really worked in the previous three Spidey films were the things they filmed directly from the comics - anything added or augmented or left up to the filmmakers - organic webbing, Venom falling from space out of nowhere, Emo Peter, Gwen's introduction -- were pretty much garbage. We know the source material works - that's why the comic has lasted, the filmmakers (actually the producers) need to let the writers and director do their job and make a good movie for once. I'm not sure this will be it - but no blame falls on anyone but the same people who FORCED Raimi to overload part 3 with too many characters and a BAD excuse for Venom to boot.

Man, that's a bad suit.

I get the feeling from that v-neck that we'll be having a lot more mask off scenes than any of the previous movies.
