Let's rewind back to early April 2024 - i stumbled upon a news article featuring Hotel Finse 1222 and their role in hosting Hoth Strikes Back
( Hoth Strikes Back — Hotel Finse 1222)
An yearly event taking place in february. There was photos of some of the props they bring out and display, and a collection of bts photos of the shoot that took place in March 1979.

I did however notice that there was no DL44 in thoose photos, s o i contacted the hotel, and asked them wheter they were interested in an authentic prop replica of the blaster. They gladly accepted, so i contacted chubsANDdoggers and asked if he was interested in donating a blaster to Finse 1222, and he did :)
A few weeks later i picked it up, packed it out, painted and weathered it.

And then, a few days later i went off to Finse 1222 by train.

The blaster painted and finished, a few days before departure.

This picture was taken by one of the attendees during the Hoth Strikes Back event :)
And a quote:

"Several people got a picture with it."

Thanks to chubsANDdoggers for donating the blaster to Finse 1222 :)

Thank you Galilei for making this happen.

Only thing I’ll add is when Ola reached out to me to see if if I’d be interested in donating a blaster my only stipulation was that it be the one he originally painted. I’d send him a new one to repaint but I wanted to share in this experience with him specifically as he did all the leg work to make it actually happen.

That and he’s actually from and lives in Norway. Plus like myself he’s a huge fan of the OG SW so how amazing is it to have something you played a part in bring to life now be apart of the “Hoth” celebration moving forward. Cheers to you Ola for making this happen and for bringing the prop to life as you did.

Next year u gotta make the trip and get some good pics ;)

My pleasure John! And again, thank you for making it possible for us to share this experience with theese detailed and authentic replica blasters.

And a little funfact:
9 hours on the train , and 372 miles distance total

I will make the trip next year :)
