I'm not sure if this deserves its own thread, but here goes.
I bought an airsoft Colt 1911 with plans to mock it up to look like Arnold's Colt/Detonics 1911A1 Series 70 Hybrid from Terminator 2. I'm not an especially skilled painter, but I did a little work on the hammer, safety and barrel.
I initially painted the original brown plastic grips black. I then discovered that the Pachmyr grips are readily available. I had fears that they might not fit a cheap airsoft pistol, but the dimensions of the gun are almost dead on.
