Terminator 2 bandolier, who made it?

I've always wondered who made the Terminator 2 bandoliers.

I'm guessing they were made for the film. I remember someone saying they were horse harnesses of some sort? How about the buckles. They are awesome in themselves.

Someone was also making slings for awhile and they looked fantastic. Any sources?
