T-2 brain chip color

I just ended up getting one of russ rep's T-2 brain chip and I wanted to know what color to paint the chip.

As I remember, it was a rust red or maroon... that's what I did on mine.

The 'cubes' and switch base are dark red; the rest is bare brass.

Unfortunately, all the shots of the thing in the film have the color balance all wonky.

I just tried color-correcting a few of the caps I have, and it still shows the chip as a nice rusty red.

I just went with some red I had laying around.

Damn! How did got that so nice and clean done?! Now I have to strip the paint off mine....

I cut thin strips of masking tape with a paper cutter.
I also clear coated it afterwards to keep the bare metal clean and protect the paint.
