Supernatural Season 8 *SPOILERS*

What's everyone thinking so far? I'm so far not really blown away by the season. It seems like Jared Padalecki is just kind of phoning it in, not really taking the show or his character seriously. His 'you're alive' to Dean seemed really .. wrong .. somehow.

Dean seems okay, and I am really glad to see more of Crowley.

I'm not sure about this Vamp that escaped Purgatory, but we'll see how that develops.

The kid's mom and the very campy way they addressed that auction seemed really off to me too. Mjolinor? Really? They didn't seem to have a reason to have that old guy and Thor's hammer except to give Sam a way to look all 'Thor' with his long hair and smashing the guy.

Here's hoping it picks up. I loved season 1-5, but wondering if it should have been cut off earlier than this. I do like the idea of them sealing Hell off forever and banishing demons once and for all though.

The show sucks now. I kind of watched the first episode. Glanced off and on at the second episode. I stuck through two bad seasons. I won't do it again. Too many good shows and movies to watch. Secret Circle was far better than the last two seasons of Supernatural and they cancelled that.

Season 7 was enjoyable, the finale with Dick wasn't completely satisfying, but it was still passable. So far, the episodes have been really weak on 8.

I for one really like it. This season seems to have a little Buffy Camp to it which I am ok with. Haters gonna hate

Count me in as another person who is really enjoying it so far!

I really don't see how "it sucks now" - I'm excited to learn more about Purgatory and Sam's life for the year without Dean. I LOVED the campiness of the auction! I only wish we could have learned some additional backstory of the old guy (was he supposed to be Thor at one point?).

The idea of the tablets is interesting - I wonder where it's going to take us! Obviously, as the season progresses, the story is going to change. I would think it would have to do with finding more tablets, but we'll see.

Season 7 was pretty sweet - and I'm loving Season 8 so far!

Im enjoying season 8 and hopes the show goes on for more seasons. Looking farward to the rest and how the story goes

I'm watching it on auto pilot now, but am not hating so far. However, the "what did Sam do while Dean was gone" thing was already done 3 or so seasons ago when Dean went to hell.

I think there's something "supernatural" going on with Sam (no pun intended lol). Mainly because of how strange he's been acting (with dean being back, him not hunting), and also how the hell did he learn the reverse exorcism like that? His explanation when Dean asked how he did it just seemed a bit odd...

Other than the obvious problems with Sam's character I have liked the first two episodes, and am really looking forward to seeing more of Dean and Benny and where that leads...

It also happened in season six, when Cass pulled soulless Sam out of Lucifers prison and Dean was living the 'normal' life for a year.

Season 7, and this new one have been so weak. Does anyone know if the show got new writers or something? Sure feels like it. When we got into more angel and demon stuff, and less classic rock and monster hunting that bothered me, but I simply got use to it. In my opinion, with season seven at least, they had some pretty interesting ideas but didn't execute them too well.

I'm still watching it because I love this show, I'm just gonna continue to hope that it gets better.

And I pray to Odin they're not hinting that Dean left Cass for dead in Purgatory... also how can stuff die in there? At least according to the show, isn't it just another form of afterlife... but for monsters?

The original show writer/planner stopped after season 5. He finished what he planned. Now the show is just wandering around aimlessly. It's reached the Alias point where I simply can't watch anymore. The first 5 seasons are worth owning too.

im pretty sure the show will end when they close the gates of hell.

The show ended for me at Season 5. If this season turns out to be as good as the first 5 post a review about it here. Other than that, I'm out on this show. I watched 2 seasons of a great show fall apart. It's like the Prequels, I want to erase it from my memory and only remember the classics.

Also, I think someone in charge at TheCW mentioned wanting the show to continue as long as possible. So I got the feeling that Supernatural was going to go to Smallville levels of crap.

I do hope that if things continue they way they are they do wrap it up with a closing of the gates of Hell and all demons banished forever. Then just end it.

Heartache was better then the first 2 eps but compared to seasons 1-5 it's still missing it's mojo. The show is just a paycheck for all involved now and it shows. I miss Eric Kripke.

I agree on the phoning it in. The first episode with the dog and the vet nonsense was painfully terrible. Just laughably awful.

I can't believe they have gone back to the Sam wanting out of hunting. I was really hoping this was a season of both brothers working together and you know, not whining about anything.

I wish I could say the purgatory storyline was even remotely interesting.

Guess I'm a hater hating.

Well, Sam never really WANTED to be a hunter. From the beginning, he had left it. He only got back in because of Jessica and finding Dad, mom's killer, and then because Lucifer wanted to ride him like a pony. I can fully accept a finale that has them shutting Hell forever, Sam going back to law school or whatever (how he's going to pass admissions with the record he has though is beyond me, considering he is DEAD to the world too!) and Dean finding Lisa and Ben and starting a new relationship, free from the monsters of the world.

Also, regarding the auction, I'm bothered by the continuity. Why wouldn't Sam take Mjolinor with him? Seems like a God weapon would be handy to have.

Well, that's what I mean though. It's a complete retread, in a bad way. He's in love with a girl and wants out of hunting. He sits in Dean's car and whines about it. I was just hoping the writers would go another direction this season considering all the character has been through and all he knows now compared to what he knew before when he sat in Dean's car and whined about wanting a normal life.

Why would he assume that just because he decides he wants a normal life, that the demons, monsters, angels, and leviathan would just let him have one?

These guys are pretty far off the grid to be going to school, I agree. It would work for me if he was doing under a fake identity, but "Sam Winchester" going to college again just doesn't really hold water.

EDIT: Yeah, I think they must have thrown Thor's sword in the trunk right? ;)
