Sulaco1967 W.i.p First Build Competed

Thanks Stephen, really appreciate the comment having seen your own work in Person.  Your Predator sculpt has been an inspiration to me as well as your encouragement during the Build.

Cheers Mate and hope too meet up with you soon.

Sean

Glad you felt the benefit of the visit and seeing someone else who went through the mill but who got there in the end too. If weather permits and family commitements allow I'll try and visit your gala day; I must see this monster in person.
What time are you making your appearance at the Newmilns Gala Day?

Well the suit is finished and I would like to thank all who posted for their Praise, encouragement and support.  Thanks to Crawjaw, Starbeast62, Bonzrus,Usurper,The Priest,Double H and calgorybound to name but a few.  Biggest thanks however has to go to 'Wonko', Brian encouraged, supported and offered much needed help through Pm's, Cheers Bud you are a legend.

The plan now is to accessorize and update everything , Armour, backpack and gauntlets etc and will start new threads as they progress. Will be starting a Hunt thread as I am hoping to get out in the suit as much as possible.

Cheers again Guys

Sean

The suit looks really good on you Sean. It turned out very well indeed. I like what you did with the back pack and how you integrated the cooling system and speakers with it. Now it is time to enjoy some of the fruits of your labors. For all the duct tape dummies you had to endure  o_O I think it was worth it. (y) Thanks for sharing the journey with us...including the first DTD's mis-adventure  :D

Now I can look forward to hunt pictures...

LOL..thanks Steve and thanks for regurgitating the Duct Tape traumas.. ...still a trauma to this day.  My friend Scott (Starbeast62) is undergoing the procedure tomorrow, bless him he does not know the pain and suffering that lies ahead . Subtle revenge as he helped with mine and laughed at my anguish. Nice to hear from you Willy from the darkest dungeons of one's factory.. :D

I am honored and humbled my friend, thank you.  I know I've said it many times before, but you have done a fantastic job on this, and should be proud of your accomplishments.  There are few builds that I looked forward to seeing updates on, and this one was always the top of the list.  I am glad and happy that I could help.  Honestly, it was nothing more than passing on what was passed to me, and sharing my personal experiences.  Now, go out and get your hunt on, have fun, and take no ***** from anyone... you deserve it!

Awesome suit Sean, Congratulations man you deserve it!!
Can only wish my wife's turn out a fraction so good!

I see no reason why you can't be the **** giver though mate, you have definitely earned the right!

Thanks Ian, appreciate the comment.  Yeah Brian could not agree with you more.

Have spent today repairing paint scuffs to the suit, colours do not blend too good but know the areas will be hidden anyway, occupational hazard I suppose. Have a wireless microphone being delivered tomorrow to upgrade the voice changer as the headset mic was not practical.  I pretty much see the voice changer as an essential part of the suit now as 1.. It masks my squeaky Scottish Accent, lol and 2 it enables me to make some realistic roars and noises when approached by the public in real time without relying on the sound system for effect.

I'm attending my first Convention on Saturday in Glasgow and am majorly excited. Lance Henrikson is there and  am well looking forward to meeting him.  I will be suited up for a while and am taking the whole family and a couple of friends as 'Spotters'.  I plan to use some Ice Packs in the suit for the first time to see if they make any difference to the heat build up.  The ventilation system had a few teething problems when I was last suited up and I think I have finally addressed them, fingers crossed.

Cheers

Sean

Wireless radio mike arrived today and after a bit of soldering and butchering of wires it is up and running.  The voice changer is attached to the backpack with powered speakers integrated into it and is quite loud.  Really looking forward to meeting Lance Henriksen tomorrow and hope he is up for a Pic with the suit at the Glasgow Convention.

I know this thread is over a year old, but I wanted to say its been a pleasure going through the build stages.  Watching you deal with problems that we all face and seeing the costume come together has been fantastic... if I've learned one thing..... Dont post pix of the DTD in progress!!  Very important stuff

Again, fantastic stuff.  Great build
