Suggestion needed for ESB Vader Helmet

Hi, everyone:
I just joined in this big family because I need some help from every Vader experts.
Recently I decided to buy an ESB Vader helmet for display purpose only. I know there are lots of amazing fan-made versions like Cking, JB, SPFX, 20thC…etc, but since most of them are not easy to find in the market today, I have to compromise and change my target on on-line stores instead.
So far I only know there are portumac, costumejunkie and xtrm from ebay that are still making Vader helmet, could anybody tell me if there are still other choices?
How about portumac’s, costumejunkie’s and xtrm’s quality and accuracy?
Right now I am a little interested in portumac’s because of its price, could anyone share some comments on this one?
Thanks a lot!

Welcome aboard! :D

I will leave it to the others to suggest a helmet though. Ultimately you will have to study the options and choose the one you like the best!

Thats the perfect answer. Go with what makes you happy, because you matter most. I know my helmet isnt perfect, but Im proud of it because of the work I put into it. In a few years if i get tired of it, ill buy another one.

I picked up a Porty a coulple of years ago. Not a bad lid for the money. Mostly it is just a Don Post recast, but not a bad one:thumbsup

Thanks for all the advice above and I really appreciate it.:thumbsup
I know I have to choose the one I like the most but since I have never seen any of the helmet in person but only in pictures, and you know one helmet may look totally different in different pictures because of different angle, light…etc, it is hard for me to pick my favorite. That’s why I would like to consult your professional suggestions because I think they are really valuable.
Right now I may have a chance to get either a Cking or a JB ESB V1. Could anyone tell me what’s the major differences between these two? Can portumac’s compare with these two? Why?
Thanks again for answering.

Right now spfx has a Vader ANH kit on ebay. He sells by the name underlord. Sand the point on the lid and use a dremmel tool to widen the bottom mouth vent and a couple coats of gloss and bam, This will be the best ESB lid you will get for your money. The kit is only $425. enjoy!

No, the Portumac will probably not compare with either of these two, but it's a nice looking helmet in its own right. Not super accurate, but has "the look".

The Cking is a copy of a low numbered DP DLX, and from what I've been told, so is the JB (but haven't confirmed that one yet).

All three seems to have the Don Post Deluxe helmet as their source.

Of the three I would probably pick the JB ESB V1 as it's the only one with an ESB style dome.

I own a Porty, and I like it. Very heavy though, and will be a chore to troop it. Has a great look, but I am far from a Vader expert. Came with a stand and is well made. Looks great on my collection shelf!

Its up to you is the best advice. I for one couldnt stand a misshapen movie copy. I like the perfect, model vader.

I know the chance is rare but I still couldn’t help myself to ask. Dose anyone consider to sell his SPFX ESB Vader helmet or is there any way to buy one today? Thanks.

Mine isn't for sale, but I thought I'd give you a look at an SPFX ESB Vader. I picked this up from another board member earlier this year. It's only for display and I love it!

I too like my spfx although it is soooo heavy. I can't wear it very long as my neck starts to hurt.

Oh...Man...
This baby really looks gorgeous:thumbsup
