Studio Reference pics for USS Enterprise D (?)

Forgive me if this is common knowledge, but I wanted to ask. Are there any good Reference photos of the Studio models of the USS Enterprise D?

I have seen about a hundred photos of the Auction where the Enterprise D was sold, but I was looking for photos besides that.

I found one or two floating around, but what else is out there? Is there anything that can be shared? I just LOVE the Enterprise D, as I was married on the Bridge of the Enterprise D in Las Vegas!!! So it's VERY special to me!

I keep hoping that they will release a Studio Models book of Star Trek stuff like they did for the Star Wars models. That would ROCK!

Anyway, just wanted to ask and see what was out there (other than the Auction photos)

Thanks!

Anyone have a pic of the infamous "UGLY" lettering?
Did that exist on the original for reals??

Looking for pic, but I heard it also exists on the Ertl model as well.

I can't find anything on Google, but if someone can post a scan of the AMT instruction sheet's painting guide, I can point it right out. It's in the Azteking on the top of the port "wing". :)

Yes it did. Saw it myself on the large Ent-D model. The 'G' was the most visible. And yes the Ertl instructions have it. Port side fantail, near the 'Enterprise' decal.

Just to put credit where due, the shots with "edDSC" in front of them, were taken by me when the 6 foot miniature was displayed at the Christies' auction in 2006.

Well my shots are of the 6 footer. That was the original filming model.

THe 6-footer and 2-footer were built for the series when it began. A few seasons in, a new 4-foot miniature was constructed, with more prominent panel detail (the larger model was too smooth-skinned for their taste).

For "Star Trek Generations", the 6 footer was refurbished to tone down the "duck egg blue" appearance of the original finish.

Early shots featuring the 6 footer use very wide angle lenses and tend to feature the saucer section... this gives the ship its signature "bloated whale" appearance. :lol

THe 4-footer was often shot with dramatic backlight or rimlight, to emphasize the panel detail.

Here it is in the Ertl paint guides.

So Rich are you going to add this to your build-ups? :lol
