Stormtrooper bodysuits?....

What do you use? Mine is a display only so comfort isn't an issue. I'd like it to look as close to what was originally used as possible. I'm thinking just a cotton/poly blend dance skin type suit?
Thanks in advance.

My suit is Lycra. If you go to ebay and check under body suits, you will find a hoard of things that are cheap and will work fine for a manaquin. If you look under clone trooper body suits, you will find a gent who is selling both Clone and Stormtrooper undersuits.

For body suits, again on ebay there is a place in...Hong Kong ?? selling suits of any color you can think of, for like $12-15.00 each. If you cant find them let me know and I will send you a link.
A lot of their stuff is metailc head to toe including hands and fingers, but also lots of flat colors including black. If your doing this on the cheaper or least horrid expensive route I would check into that.

Again if you cant find these links let me know.

If it's for display on a mannequin, then a one-piece dance skin is a bad idea...

Dressing your fibreglass/plastic mannequin in a one-piece dance skin ends up like a cut-scene from "Weekend at Bernie's". A bit like dancing with a corpse! :lol

For my Stormtrooper mannequin I use a long sleeved black T-shirt on the top, and a pair of women's stretchy, cotton black 'leggings' (not sure what they're called in the U.S./Canada?)
Although most womens' leggings wont be long enough for a male mannequin's legs... you don't see any black below a stormtrooper's knees anyways, so it doesn't matter if they end halfway up the mannequin's shins. Just pull them tight and duct-tape the bottoms to your mannequin's legs, so there are no sags or creases :)

Plus it's a helluva lot cheaper than using a lycra bodysuit :thumbsup

Cheers,
John

Put the following into the ebay serach: zentai lycra body suit. Beware because you are getting into a fetish type clothing search. Anyway I got mine from a seller in china. I opted for the full head, gloves with the zipper up the back. And it came with a zipper in the crotch area to use the bathroom. You want the full face and gloves for the following reasons: Head, Hot glue the ribbed neck piece in place. After it had dried you can cut off the hood. Now it is a one piece design and the zipper is in the back......along the same seam as the ribbed neck piece. I cut out the hands leaving a hoop for my thumbs. That way it doesnt ride up while trooping. I left the booties and just wear black socks over. I think It was like $20 or so including shipping.

I originally used a racing undersuit made by EDZ. Was great, but if the velcro ever got hold of it, it started to pull it apart, plus it started to lose a bit of it's darkness over the years I had it. Ended up a very dark grey, rather than black.

A few other guys used racing suits made by Receka, but their customer service let them down very badly.

I ended up biting the bullet, and spent out on a set of Underarmor. Best money I ever spent TBH. Fits a treat & very comfortable. Helps absorb the pain of 'trooper pinch' too.

Can't go wrong either way, imo. Own a zentai suit and undermor top and leggings, and have to say there both great. The one piece is a bit of a hassle to get on and off, and there will be a zipper visible up most of the back, fyi, not that you see it.
