Have never seen or heard of one, but they did make a new version for the TV-series.Hey there,
Anybody know if there was ever a replica of the RA movie mask/helmet available?
You should get the Horizon fifth scale kit and use as reference. As close as you can get to the full scale version. If there isn't, i'd love to do one, but can anybody point me in any usefull directions???
Anybody else interested?
Would be an interesting sculpt to do and great stuff if you attempt it. Ill echo Nohumorman, the horizon kit would be a great starting point.
If i can dig out where I have seen reference pics I will post them, I am sure others have more aswell.
I believe there were replicas of all three movie masks available back in 1994.
I think there was an ad in Starlog.
you are correct Distortions a mask/haunted house prop company made all 4 stargate masks Ra, horus, anubis and they also did the furry beast.
They were expensive and didn't hold up well because they were heavy and latex.
I talked with the owner of the company about them a few years back, they were beautiful masks, but now a hot rare collectable.
here's a pic of the amazing Ra mask they produced.

Yeah, some great reference material came forward. Though, it was both of the movie version and the TV series version and there are differences. But any reference photos would be awesome. The photos in the other thread were perfect!
Wood skeleton with chicken-wire frame and paper mache (or perhaps something a bit stronger structurally, but just as light) for the understructure to sculpt on top of would indeed lessen the weight. But yeah... it IS a huge mask. This is something i'd love to do, but the sheer size of all that clay is very daunting to me!

The face can always be sculpted separately.
Damn, that would have been awesome, wonder if they were movie mould?
WOW... I'd love to see pictures of that. :thumbsupIve have a movie accurate face part in 1:1 that I got from a member here, it's just the rest I need to worry about.
That's not much considering the price of a Vader helmet.to my knowledge they did use the movie molds, pretty sure they sold for over $450 originally.

That Horus mask is greak, well they all are. Where did you get them from, are they available still?
