Stargate Film & TV Franchise Props

Hello!

I recently made the dive in to the pool of screen-used prop collecting, an upgrade from my history of collecting prop replicas, and that first purchase is on its way from Propworx as I write this.

My flagship addition is a screen worn Jaffa costume from the TV franchise and as soon as it arrives and is installed on its newly purchased mannequin I'll be doing an extensive materials and finish inventory for posterity. Over time I'll be finishing it off with a few optional detail variation pieces as they become available, such as a screen-used staff weapon and so on.

How many of you also collect Stargate memorabilia and what are some of your prized pieces? -- detailed photos encouraged, because I'm a Stargate nut and because I am actively writing the software and database structure for (what I hope will become) a comprehensive online archive, so that many details of the production are recorded for current and future fans to enjoy. The goal of this project is to focus on what goes on behind the camera in production that allows for such wonderful things to appear in front of the camera. I also plan to release this web-based software under a GPL license, so that others who are passionate about their respective franchises can do the same and help preserve a bit of history with information from those that made it.

Specifically I'm interested in the wide range of prop, set, and wardrobe pieces that have been created and used over the years, as well as their variations as the franchise progressed. Of great interest for the archive would be information on, and photos of, items that were created and not used on screen -- prototypes or lineage variations that led to a final approved design. =)

Best,

Terry

Hey Terry!
Im a massive SG fan myself and like you my Jaffa is my main piece. There are alot of big SG fans here too with some amazing collections but have a look at this thread too
http://www.therpf.com/f9/stargate-props-show-us-yours-73003/ and add some pics :)

Thank you for the link. I've done several searches on this site on the subject before my post and I can't explain why the thread that you provided either didn't show up, or I was a being a nutter and somehow missed it more than once. I'll be sure to contribute to the thread once I get my costume setup and presentable and thanks again!

Best,

Terry
